Week of May 3-9

Bible Study, Writing, Reading
Family devotion time each day. Faith copied her verse of the day on to her own handwriting paper from the Bible.

Reading, History
Began reading Farmer Boy, by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Olivia Forms a Band, by Falconer.

Science, Reading
The Plant Cycle, by Morgan.
A Kid's Guide to How Vegetables Are Grown, Ayers.
Grow It, Cook It, by Lock.
Food, by Buller.

Science
Planted vegetable today in starter peat pots. The kids chose different types of green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers to plant, filled the cups with potting soil, sowed the seeds, and watered them.

Spelling, Writing
Trace each word. Write it again on the line next to it. (art, apple, am, act, are, ask, ant) Faith needed practice writing the letter a in lowercase.

Letter a handwriting practice. Trace the letter a (several times) write it again (several times) write these words--apple, and, mama.

Reading, Writing
Reading comprehension. Short story: Every Day Should Be Mother's Day. Faith answered multiple choice questions about the story.

Reading comprehension. Short story: Max the Dog. Answered questions in written format.

Math (Time)
Worksheet: Write the time two ways (o'clock, half past)

Fractions worksheet.
Worksheet: Picture Graphs. Look at the graph. How many pets does each child have? How many pets do Carlos and Phil have in all? Becky has more pets than Ann. How many more?
